Most of us know of the Taj Mahal as an epitome of eternal love and passion of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan towards his beloved wife Mumtaz . Famous as one of the wonders of the world, the architectural beauty and magnificence of the Taj Mahal has never been surpassed……. However, very few know that this mausoleum in Agra also tells the tragic story of the unfortunate way Mumtaz died.
In her 19 years of marriage, she had total 14 children . Seven of them died either at birth or at a very young age…….
and finally Mumtaz died at an early age of 37 while giving birth to her 14 th child on June 17, 1631, due to postpartum haemorrhage and complications related to repeated childbirth.
